It is not common for a bonafide street artist to venture into a studio practice. The constant travelling and nomadic lifestyle of a muralist is not exactly compatible with long hours in a studio. But that is precisely the idea behind the Fordistas Residence Program by the visionary Alex Fernandez Casais and his forward thinking Product 81. The impressive roster of international street artists that he has put together for the program has no precedent in the magic city and the resulting exhibits have been some of the best we have seen in the district.
Add to the list one of the most notorious street art nomads of all time, the one that nobody thought could be tamed; we are talking about Italian artist Jacopo Ceccarelli, although you probably know him as Never 2501. Ceccarelli's Nomadic Experiment is a few years in the making and it has taken him around the world in a long strange mural painting trip and flawless documentary videos of his travels.

Tons of Tools, his exhibit at the Product 81 space for the Fordistas Residence Program, included a total of eight large format canvases in which the artist experimented with his recently custom made tools. In a section of the exhibit Never2501 presented a canvas for each one of his painting tools and in the opposite wall two massive canvases, that he unofficially titled "the poems", incorporating his signature black and white traces with an evolved style; product of the new tools that he recently created.
