Whenever someone comes visit me in Miami, I usually take them to "La Calle Ocho" as soon as they land. That is pretty much what Magnus Sodamin did upon his return to the magic city after a month long residence at Quartier 21 in Vienna and a visit to Norway for a group show at Kunstland.
For Magnus a busy schedule seems to be the norm. In the past few years, the artist has participated in numerous projects; including consecutive solo shows at Primary Projects. A video of his latest exhibit at Primary titled Infinity Split, was actually just released in collaboration with Nest HQ.
The new mural in Calle Ocho is pretty masive and very colorful. His signature drips and flowers look great over the black background. It took about ten days of solid work to finish, but with plenty of "colada" options nearby he never ran out of fuel. Or paint.
